Is Rentylio free to download? +
Yes — completely free to download on Android and iOS. Tenants pay ₹19 only when they pay rent (which generates their HRA receipt). Owners get 1 property free forever.
Does Rentylio hold my security deposit? +
No. Your deposit stays in the owner's bank account — exactly as it is today. Rentylio records the proof (UPI screenshot, transaction ID) and gets both parties to confirm. This creates legal evidence without any regulatory complexity.
What happens if my owner disputes the deposit at move-out? +
You have the UPI transaction ID, screenshot, and timestamped confirmation on both sides stored in Rentylio. If there's a dispute, both parties can pay ₹499 for Rentylio mediation — faster and cheaper than a lawyer or consumer court.
How does electricity billing work? +
The owner enters the previous and current meter reading each month. Rentylio calculates: units used × rate per unit = electricity bill. This shows as a clear line item in the tenant's monthly bill — no disputes, full transparency.
Is my data safe? +
All payments go through Razorpay (PCI DSS certified). Your personal data is encrypted and stored securely. We never sell your data to third parties. Read our full Privacy Policy for complete details.

1. Who we are
Rentylio ("we", "our", "us") is a mobile application operated from India. Our registered email is support@rentylio.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal information when you use the Rentylio app or website at rentylio.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Identity data: Full name, mobile number, email address (optional), Aadhaar number (only if you opt for Verified Badge — not stored, only verification status is stored).
- Property data: Property address, city, pincode, type, BHK, furnishing details.
- Tenancy data: Rent amount, deposit amount, lease start/end dates, maintenance fee.
- Payment data: Payment amounts, months, Razorpay order/payment IDs, transaction status. We do NOT store card numbers or bank details — these are handled entirely by Razorpay.
- Deposit data: Deposit amount, payment method, UPI transaction ID, uploaded screenshots as evidence.
- Maintenance data: Ticket title, description, location, photos you upload, notes.
- Usage data: App usage patterns, screen visits, error logs — for improving the app.
- Device data: Device model, OS version, push notification token.

4. Who we share data with
We share your data only with:
- Razorpay: Payment processing. Razorpay is PCI DSS Level 1 compliant.
- Twilio: SMS and WhatsApp notifications.
- Supabase / AWS: Secure database hosting.
- Your tenant or owner: When you create a tenancy, relevant details (name, mobile) are visible to the other party in that tenancy.
We do NOT sell your data to any third party. We do NOT share data with advertisers.
5. Data storage and security
Your data is stored on servers located in Asia (Singapore/India region). We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest). JWT tokens are used for authentication. Passwords are not used — we use OTP-based login only.
6. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Payment and deposit records are retained for 7 years as required by Indian accounting laws. You may request deletion of personal data by emailing support@rentylio.com — payment records required by law cannot be deleted.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access all data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and non-essential data
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications
- Lodge a complaint with relevant Indian authorities

Rentylio is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

1. Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using Rentylio ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. What Rentylio is
Rentylio is a digital platform that helps tenants and house owners manage their rental relationship — including rent payments, deposit recording, agreements, maintenance tracking and related services. Rentylio is NOT a real estate broker, bank, escrow agent or legal firm.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of India to use Rentylio. By using the App, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
4. Account registration
- You must provide a valid Indian mobile number for OTP verification.
- You are responsible for all activity on your account.
- Do not share your OTP with anyone — Rentylio will never ask for it.
- Notify us immediately if your account is compromised.
5. Payments
- All payments are processed by Razorpay. By making payments, you also agree to Razorpay's terms.
- A convenience fee of ₹19 is charged per rent payment for digital receipt and HRA document generation.
- Subscription fees are charged monthly or annually as selected.
- The ₹99 Verified Badge fee is a one-time, non-refundable payment.
- Rentylio does not hold, escrow or guarantee any rental deposits. Deposits remain with the owner.
6. User obligations
You agree NOT to:
- Provide false or misleading information about properties, tenancies or deposits
- Use the App for any illegal purpose under Indian law
- Attempt to hack, reverse-engineer or interfere with the App
- Harass, threaten or abuse other users
- Create multiple accounts to abuse the free tier
- Upload harmful, obscene or illegal content
7. Deposit records and evidence
Rentylio records deposit details as submitted by users. We do not independently verify deposit amounts. The App provides a platform for both parties to record and confirm. Users are responsible for the accuracy of information they enter. Rentylio records can be used as supporting evidence but do not replace legal documentation.
8. Dispute mediation
Rentylio offers optional paid mediation (₹499 per party) for deposit disputes. Mediation is a voluntary, non-binding facilitation. Rentylio's mediation decision is advisory and not legally enforceable. Either party may still pursue legal remedies independently. Mediation fees are non-refundable once a case is opened.
9. Maintenance and repairs
Rentylio facilitates communication about maintenance issues. We are not responsible for ensuring repairs are completed, or for any property damage or personal injury resulting from maintenance issues.
10. Intellectual property
All content, features and functionality of Rentylio (including logo, design, code and text) are owned by Rentylio and protected by Indian copyright law. You may not copy, reproduce or distribute any part of the App without written permission.
11. Limitation of liability
Rentylio is provided "as is". We are not liable for:
- Disputes between tenants and owners not resolved through our platform
- Loss of deposit funds (deposits are held by owners, not Rentylio)
- Inaccurate information entered by users
- App downtime or data loss beyond our reasonable control
- Any indirect, incidental or consequential damages
Our maximum liability to you shall not exceed the fees you paid to Rentylio in the 3 months prior to the dispute.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
13. Changes to terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification.

Refund Policy

1. Rent payments
Rent payments made through Rentylio are transactions between tenants and owners. Rentylio facilitates the payment but does not control or hold the funds. Refund requests for rent amounts must be resolved directly between tenant and owner. The ₹19 convenience fee is non-refundable once a payment is processed.
2. Subscription plans
Monthly subscription fees (Starter ₹149, Pro ₹399, Society ₹999) are charged at the start of each billing cycle. If you cancel your subscription, you retain access until the end of the paid period. We do not provide pro-rata refunds for unused days in a billing cycle. Refund requests within 24 hours of initial subscription purchase will be considered on a case-by-case basis — email support@rentylio.com.
3. Verified Badge (₹99)
The Verified Badge is a one-time purchase and is non-refundable once the verification process has been initiated.
4. Dispute mediation (₹499)
Mediation fees are non-refundable once a dispute case has been opened and a mediator has been assigned.
5. How to request a refund
For eligible refund requests, email us at support@rentylio.com with:
- Your registered mobile number
- Transaction ID or Razorpay order ID
- Reason for refund request
We will respond within 3 business days. Approved refunds are processed within 5-7 business days back to your original payment method.
6. Razorpay
All payments are processed by Razorpay. In case of technical payment failures (double charges, etc.), contact us immediately with your transaction details.
